In early November, the first snow is already falling on the Blanchemer lake in the Vosges, France. I spotted this little birch tree on the other side of the lake still proudly wearing its autumn colors. Behind it, the branches of the huge pines are already bearing the weight of the snow, as if to protect the small isolated tree. The cycle of the seasons continues inexorably.
