An hour of sunset in Lelystad by JacArt Prints

In this unique, artistic landscape photograph, you can see the vast waters near Lelystad (Markermeer), transformed into a powerful statement about time and movement. The image is the result of a meticulous process in which I stacked the exposures taken over the course of an entire hour ( 'gestapeld' ).

Instead of a single sun on the horizon, you see an elegant, graphic row of multiple, orange-gold spheres tracing a perfect path from high in the sky to the dark horizon. Each sphere represents the position of the sun at that specific hour. This creates a visual timeline of light, which is beautifully reflected on the smooth, technically stilled water surface.

The crucial focal point in this composition lies on the left-hand side of the horizon. Like a dark silhouette, crouching on the embankment at the end of the breakwater, you can see Antony Gormley’'s wereldberoemde sculptuur: De Hurkende Man (officieel: Exposure). De figuur zit daar als een stille, tijdloze getuige van de dagelijkse ondergang van de zon en de enorme weidsheid van het water. Het contrast tussen de dynamische 'dans' s of the multiple suns, and the man’s unflappable, crouching posture lends this image a deep, contemplative atmosphere. The deep orange-gold hues of the sky form a warm and timeless contrast with the cool, dark tones of the water.

For me, this artwork is the essence of tranquillity and reflection on the passing of time, captured within an iconic Dutch landscape. It is a tribute to the symbiosis between art (Gormley) and nature.

In a modern or industrial interior, this photograph is an absolute 'eyecatcher'. Het unieke grafische lijnenspel van de zonnen en de herkenbare vorm van De Hurkende Man brengen direct karakter en gespreksstof aan de muur. Of het nu in een woonkamer, kantoor of slaapkamer hangt;; this image offers a moment of contemplation and timeless beauty.
