Cleaning up on board ships. the crew is busy.
The bow and anchors traces of rust and dirt. The cargo ships moored in the harbor could use a freshening up. The ships are unloaded or loaded in the harbor. The crew does the maintenance without us seeing it.
The bright colors in the sunlight the traces of the journeys by sea from port to port. It gives a good picture of what the harbor is like. Raw and unpolished beautiful and overwhelmingly large and noisy. The ships big and tall bulky and moored at the quay or at anchor. The crews with men on board and off board. The ships ready again for the next cargo and again on their way across the sea.
Raw and the port as it is, the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
