Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘And then the light decided to burst’ by Color Square

This work radiates a powerful, almost cosmic energy. The composition is built up from powerful planes in bronze-like gold tones, deep blue and coal grey. The brushwork is robust and impasto, with a palpable texture as if the canvas itself is bursting from within.

At the centre of the image, a light source emerges, surrounded by rotating, almost fiery fragments of colour. The whole evokes associations with an explosion of stardust, the birth of something that has yet to define itself. The warm and cool tones clash and harmonise — like fire and ice in dialogue.

What is striking are the subtle transitions between light and shadow, which suggest depth without being perspectival. This makes the work seem to pulsate: like a living organism or an emotion about to explode.
