My name is Hans Staphorst and I was born in 1947 and trained as a photographer at the FotoVakSchool. Since 1976, I have worked as a photographer at the International Institute of Social History (IISG). Besides working at the IISH, I was active in the Amsterdam Photographers' Collective (AFK) also worked as a freelance photographer for JazzFreak magazine. In 2004, I founded the photo group "Lichtspoor" together with some colleagues.
