On a trip to Chile lasting several weeks with the aim of climbing Mount Llullaillaco, I was able to take this picture of the Atacama Desert near the Argentinian border at an altitude of around 5500 metres.
Due to the very dry air and the high altitude, the colours are radiant and the shadows very harsh.
Everything is rough and rugged, from the rocks to the plants. The landscape had a very calming effect on me.
I have enjoyed taking photographs since I was a child, and my father laid the foundation for this. He gave me a completely analogue camera, a Practica with interchangeable lenses for 35mm film. This sparked the fascination that I still pursue today. My cameras and lenses accompany me.. Read more…
