The Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus) is a ray-finned fish species of the sturgeon family (Acipenseridae).
The fish can reach a length of 4.3 m and a weight of 360 kg. The colour of the body is bluish black or olive brown with lighter sides and a white belly. The Atlantic sturgeon can reach an age of about 60 years.
