The atlas butterfly belongs to the family of night owls. Mostly brown with lighter and dark accents. Can reach a wingspan of 30 cm. This is a nocturnal species that does not fly much. As a butterfly it cannot feed and tar on the energy absorbed in the caterpillar stage. Lives only a week.
