August Macke was born in Meschede in Sauerland in 1887. During his childhood, Macke lived in Cologne and in Bonn. From 1904 to 1906 Macke studied at the art academy and at the Düsseldorf school of arts and crafts. He could not find his feet there and in 1907/1908 Macke went to the painting school of Lovis Corinth in Berlin. But…
