Autumn leaf on its way in the stream - at Geroldsauer Wasserfall Baden-Baden
The photo originated during sunrise in the Grobbach near Geroldsau.
I was standing in the bed of the stream and when the light from the sun came into contact with the shallow water in a small side stream, this pallet of colours shown in the photo was created.
At the same time, the water carried away the autumn leaves which fit the composition beautifully.
The slow shutter speed I used created texture in the little water that accentuated the light and colour. It also gives the photo movement and direction.
The shape of the stones adds balance to the work.
I am always amazed at how seemingly ordinary things like stone and water and a fallen leaf can be so beautiful when the light of the sun falls on them at a certain angle.
