The Hilversum painter Jan van Ravenswaay (1789-1869) bought land west of the centre of Hilversum in about 1835 with the support of some friends in order to create a walking area with trees in the outlying area. Later this Boomberg was transferred to the municipality of Hilversum and became one of the first public walking areas outside the built-up area. In the meantime, this has become a converted but protected townscape. This Peerlkamplaan runs from the Rosarium to the Corversbos.
