A Drone photo of the rice paddies near Ubud in Bali. These rice fields are more than 2,000 years old. Seen from the air, it is a beautiful greenery, a work of art created by the farmers. You can clearly see the layers of rice fields between the many palm trees of Tegallalang.
These terrace hills are among the most photographed in Bali. It can therefore be very crowded during the day. You see der rice fields less often from the air, as in this photo. The drone photo was taken before sunrise, when it was still very quiet. A few farmers, but there was no tourist in sight.
The fields were cut out of the mountains by the farmers, the system is designed so that the water flows down and can be collected. Water is an important component in growing rice. Rice is an important crop in Bali for food, but also for religious ceremonies. In the picture you can see that some fields are slowly turning yellow, this means that the rice is almost ready for harvest. In my shop I have some other pictures of these beautiful rice fields in Bali.
