The Basilica of Saints Agatha and Barbara is a Roman Catholic church in Oudenbosch, in the Dutch province of North Brabant. The church was built between 1867 and 1880 and was elevated to basilica minor in 1912. The church is a scaled-down copy of St. Peter's Basilica, with the front of St. John of the Lateran in Rome. The architects are P.J.H. Cuypers and G.J. van Swaay.
Not only from the outside does the Basilica resemble St. Peter's in Rome, also on the inside much has been copied. Many of the statues were copied from St. Peter's. As a result, the saints from before the 17th century are over-represented. Michelangelo's Pietà is recreated from marble painted in plaster. The canopy above the altar is also a copy of Bernini's canopy. Even pieces from the Sistine Chapel have been installed under the small domes.
