An Avro Lancaster bomber together with a Spitfire fighter during the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The Lancaster is a World War II four-engine heavy bomber built by Avro. The Lancaster was mainly used by the Royal Air Force. The aircraft had a large payload capacity. It could carry the heaviest bombs such as the Tallboy weighing over 5 tonnes and the Grand Slam weighing over 10 tonnes.
