This graphic and textural work captures the visual clash between the rigid, architectural forms of grey concrete and the organic, vibrant chaos of tall, green grass. The composition is dominated by the sharp diagonal of the concrete, giving a sense of determination and order. This contrasts sharply with the sunlit grass fighting its way up along it. The shadows on the concrete add a dynamic, abstract interplay of lines.
My inspiration lay in finding beauty in the boundary between the man-made and the natural. The image captures the moment when nature claims its space back, symbolised by the single, tiny purple flower. The deep, vibrant green colour exudes vitality and optimism.
The mood is one of energy, contrast and graphic beauty. The work is a visual statement about the resilience of nature.
This image is special in modern and industrial interiors. It adds a powerful, earthy contrast and uniquely combines the coolness of stone with the warmth of summer nature.
"Tight boundary, vibrant battle; the graphic poetry of stone and the irrepressible, bright green."
