About ‘Bay of Fires’ by Femke van Egmond
The boulders in the Bay of Fires in Tasmania have orange colours because of the lichen that grows on them. Where the name comes from doesn't seem to be entirely certain. By the colour of the boulders or by the aboriginal fires that were seen from the sea by Captain Furneaux in 1773.
