Beekberger forest near Apeldoorn. Primary forest in development. Marshy nature reserve just south of Apeldoorn (Woudweg, Klarenbeek). For about 8,000 years, the Beekberger forest remained intact. Until the last tree was felled in 1871. An agricultural area with meadows and fields emerged. Natuurmonumenten started restoring the area in 2006, trying to bring back something of the fairytale wilderness.
