About the artwork

The Crimson Mill in the morning mist

Even before the first birds began to sing, a soft mist hung over the Groningen landscape. The sky slowly coloured from cool blue to warm orange, and right in that moment the Crimean windmill stood, proud and timeless, in the middle of the silent backdrop. This photo was taken during an early trip to the mill, rewarded by a sunrise that enveloped everything in a dreamy glow.

The Crimson Mill, also known as The Phoenix, has a rich history. Originally built as a polder mill, it burned down completely in 1903. Only a year later, it rose again, symbolising strength and resilience. With its impressive flight of over 24 metres, it is even the largest polder mill in Groningen. Today, the mill is a striking beacon along the Boterdiep, where it not only carries memories of the past, but is also a source of inspiration for those who see it in such magical circumstances.

This photo captures that unique moment when silence, history and nature come together. A timeless Dutch scene that exudes tranquillity and adds a touch of poetry to any interior.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
