The World Time Clock is a magnet for tourists and locals on Alexanderplatz in Berlin. It has been displaying the local time since 1969. What makes it special, however, is that it not only shows the local time, but also the time in all time zones around the world. The picture shows a detail of the metal rotunda with the numbers and some place names. The circle of numbers rotates continuously to show the correct time for each time zone. It was designed by industrial designer Erich John.
The picture shows the colours of the numbers and the circle of numbers and the bluish metal.
A beautiful picture that shows such a typical piece of Berlin. Anyone who has ever been to Berlin is sure to have taken a photo of the famous World Time Clock :) It is a clock, a sight and a landmark all in one!
