Went to the Hoge Veluwe on 23 September with a good friend to show him deer. All day it rained off and on and in terms of light it was disappointing. Until the moment we were about to leave and drove past the Reemsterveld. There were some deer there and this antler-bearer walked up the hill at exactly the right moment when some light came through between the clouds. By underexposing a little, I was able to create this silhouette in which the sun and the showers are also clearly visible.
Ronald Buitendijk started a few years ago with photographing animals he was looking for. With great pleasure he goes looking for wild animals to put them on film. Of course this is done in a way to disturb the animals as little as possible.
