About ‘Between the Rocks and the Sea’ by Zuidfotograaf

A peaceful moment by the coast, where the clear seawater flows gently against the rugged rocks. In this photograph, the various elements of the coastal landscape come together beautifully. The turquoise water covers most of the frame and, thanks to the movement of the waves, constantly reveals new patterns and textures. The white crests emphasise the power of the water as the waves crash against the rocky shore.

On the right-hand side is an impressive rock face with deep crevices and natural openings. The warm, earthy colours of the rock form a beautiful contrast with the cool blues and greens of the sea. A small stretch of beach is visible between the rocks, giving the landscape an intimate and almost hidden feel.

In the foreground, the blurred vegetation and rocks add extra depth. This makes it seem as though you are looking down from the edge of the coast yourself and experiencing the landscape up close. The combination of sharp rock formations, gently moving water and subtle natural colours gives the photograph a serene feel.
