There is a birch forest like this on one of my walking routes. Whenever I walked past it, I visualised in my head how it would look on canvas. I painted the birch trunks crosswise in several layers with white acrylic paint to create the structure of a birch tree. Using a thin palette knife, I completed the typical bark with black acrylic paint and achieved the effect with the many layers of white.
