The black-headed gull is a common species in the Netherlands and makes its home in our cities, villages and can certainly be found in the countryside too. These animals inhabit the same world as us and sometimes deserve extra attention! This portrait was shot in a park in the middle of the city. The animals here are used to people, which makes it easy to approach them. The deep autumn colours reflect a dark and warm copper in the water. This contrasts with the cold and colourless plumage of the black-headed gull.
