About the artwork

The Spreewald is a wooded peat bog in the southeast of the German federal state of Brandenburg in a fairly flat area at an altitude of about 50 to 150 metres.

The landscape of the Spreewald was created as a result of the last ice age. The area was formed by the many branches of the river Spree; in addition, many small canals were constructed for the drainage of the area. The total length of the watercourses is more than 970 km. Since 1991 the Spreewald has been recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.

Edward Theodore Compton, usually referred to as E. T. Compton, (July 29, 1849 - Feldafing, Bavaria, Germany March 22, 1921) was a German artist, illustrator and mountaineer born in England. He is known for his paintings and drawings of alpine landscapes and as a mountaineer he made 300 major climbs, including no less than 27 first climbs. In 1867 his family decided to emigrate to Germany and settle in Darmstadt.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
