Iceland is known for its beautiful, grand and impressive landscapes, many of which are volcanic in origin. Besides the plains of lava, there are huge waterfalls. But what is also typical Iceland for me are the many horses, the little tussocks of pink flowers on the brown lava and the mountains that look blue because of the covering in June with blue-purple lupines. Here, on the edge of a fjord in northwest Iceland near the town of Isafjordur, I came across this beautiful carpet of lupines with a rowboat.
