About "Borgward P 100 (Big Borgward)"

About the artwork

In the beginning, there was no real sales name, because the first 50 P 100s had no air suspension. And after 2,587 vehicles, the company unfortunately went bankrupt in September 1961, which is why I say: "Airswing, the air-suspended Hanseat!
At the beginning as Bremer Kühlerfabrik Borgward & Co. they built the "Blitzkarren" in 1924 and at the end everything was sold to Mexico. There, with the production facilities of the P 100, further vehicles 2,267 were produced as the Borgward 230. These, however, without air suspension, tail fins and panoramic rear window. And the 230 GL Pullman extended by 10 cm with tail fins and panorama window in the rear. A more powerful version was planned as the Borgward 230 RS with 125 hp. In the middle of 1970 the newly founded company group FANASA (Fabrica Nacional de Automoviles SA) had finished with Borgward!

Nevertheless, today one would call the Borgward P 100 (1959-1962) a flying carpet with its Airswing air suspension, in addition full 100 HP with only 1275 kg empty weight a top speed of 160 km/h was possible.
