Peonies, partly at the end of their flowering period, lie like a fragile, pastel-coloured, floating bouquet in a bowl of water. The ravages of time make the colours more pastel but also emphasise the transience of the blooms and colours. One flower also falls apart further than the other, but together they form an image that looks something like a brocante style, or like wallpaper from days gone by. The picture will be an eye-catcher in many living rooms and suits different living styles.
