If you search for the "Vatican Museum" in the search engines, you will come across the picture of the staircase almost as often as the pictures of the many works of art. This already indicates that this is a special staircase. The beautiful spiral spiral staircase is an unusual ornament in Rome; actually, I should say Vatican City. The large circular staircase was only added to the museum in 1932, to connect the various galleries. It was designed by Italian architect Giuseppe Momo. As Pope Pius XI's personal architect, he completed several structures including St Peter's station. But he really rose to fame with the grand spiral staircase for the Vatican Museum.
