About "Broken decay"

About the artwork

This work grew out of my fascination with the tension between geometry and decay. While photographing, a composition in which straight lines and areas of colour are abruptly interrupted by fractures, wear and tear and traces of time caught my eye. What began as documentation of a piece of industrial reality grew into an abstract translation of harmony and disruption.

The atmosphere is layered and quietly expressive. The alternation of planes suggests order, but beneath it lurks turmoil - as if time itself has imprinted itself. This work fits within the spirit of minimalist and post-industrial abstract photography, akin to the work of photographers like Idris Khan or artists like Donald Judd, in which rhythm, repetition and imperfection seek each other out.

What makes this image unique is that it is not only viewed, but also experienced. As wall art, it lifts a space to another level: it not only creates atmosphere, but also a field of tension that continues to intrigue.

It is a work that does not tell one what to see, but invites one to keep exploring - again and again, each time differently. A visual silence that speaks all the more powerfully.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
