View from the Hudson River of the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan. Lower Manhattan is the southernmost part of Manhattan. It is the main district and the commercial and administrative center of New York. It is generally defined as the area bounded by depending on its source, Chambers Street or 14th Street to the north, the Hudson to the west, the East River to the east, and The Battery and New York Bay to the south. Lower Manhattan contains New York City Hall, the Manhattan Municipal Building, the financial district around Wall Street and the World Trade Center. This photo was taken during a boat ride on the Hudson River.
