It is spring and a bearess stands with two cubs among flowering woolly grass in a swamp in central Finland. The cubs are still very young, probably no more than a few weeks old, and therefore still quite vulnerable. Mother and cubs line up beautifully, with the mother bear intently exploring the surroundings.
