Actually, on principle, I prefer not to look at animals in captivity. Hoenderdaell Estate is an exception, though, because most of the animals here come from poor conditions. So did two of the brown bears. They arrived here in 2013 after a journey of more than 30 hours.
The bears came from a breeding station in Bulgaria and were 10 years old at the time. A wealthy man bred the animals there in concrete tanks to then hunt them. How nice then to see a contented bear now, enjoying tasty snacks in the water.
