Bumblebees[2] (Bombus) are a genus of insects belonging to the family bees (Apidae). There are about 250 species of bumblebees worldwide that occur naturally in Europe, North Africa, Asia, North America and South America. Several European bumblebee species have been introduced by humans in New Zealand and Tasmania. In Belgium and the Netherlands there are about thirty different species, some of which are rare.
