The calf in the picture is a drudge. This fruit has died during pregnancy because of an anomaly, usually it is driven off or decomposed.

But in this case, it was sterile dried up
and sort of mummified.
I placed the calf on a tree trunk, the wood represents the barn in which the (mother) cow lived, the year rings and especially the inner circle represents the 1st year of life, the crack in the bark represents the death of the outer cell layers and by dryness the wood shrinks. The calf has shrunk from 8 kg to 4 kg by drying.
The hop which is wrapped around the calf is a windy plant, which for me represents the connection between the cow & calf. Hops are also a symbol of calming and sleep inducing which in this case led to death.
The hop cones are female (the mother) and the colour green stands for hope (as long as the calf was still in the womb there was life, so hope).
During the slaughter of the cow, this calf appeared, this is something very special and almost never happens and certainly not this big.
