The market square in Calw - half-timbered romance
Calw's market square is one of the most beautiful squares in the northern Black Forest and is characterised by its unique ensemble of historic half-timbered houses. The densely packed buildings with their skilfully carved beams, bay windows and traditional mullioned windows tell of centuries of town history. Many of the houses date back to the 17th and 18th centuries and have been restored with great attention to detail.
