This church was built in the beginning of the 20th Century and was consecrated in 1904. Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austrian Hungarian throne and his wife prayed here a few days before they were attacked and killed 28th of June 1914. The church also holds a rememberence of the SS prisoners that were held at Lake Braies during WW II.
