Many people don't even think of them: the Bärensteine and the Rauenstein. Yet they rise very close to the tourist stronghold in Saxon Switzerland, southwest of Bad Schandau and southeast of Wehlen. Crossing by ferry and starting to walk, it is not far to the mountains and to worthwhile views. Among other things, you can get a view of the Bastei from a different perspective from the Rauenstein. The photo here was taken far away from the two mountains in the Struppener Elbschleife, but the light in the evening of the recording their contours illuminated so beautifully and concisely on the horizon that I had to devote myself to them.
