The minimalist photograph "Carrelet" captures a moment of tranquility on the Atlantic coast of France. The wooden fisherman's cottage on tall stilts seems to float above the soft, calm water. The light, clear sky and the subtly drifting clouds make the horizon seem endless. Everything radiates peace and simplicity.
Along the Atlantic coast, particularly in the Charente-Maritime region, you'll find these unique fishermen's cottages known as carrelets. A square net hangs from the front, which fishermen slowly move up and down. This small-scale fishing method is peaceful, has a low environmental impact, and is part of a local tradition. Often, residents here catch fish only for their own consumption or on a small scale.
The photograph "Carrelet" brings a sense of space and tranquility to any living room, bedroom, or workspace. The image invites you to escape the hustle and bustle for a moment and experience peace and simplicity.
I used an ND filter to capture "Carrelet." This allowed me to use a long shutter speed, which makes the water and air lose their movement and the stillness becomes palpable.
Welcome.

An invitation to be still and to slow down. Not only to look, but above all to experience the peace, space and simplicity, in the middle of the busy world..
