In 1671 the organ builder Nicolaas van Hagen from Antwerp was commissioned to build a new instrument. Lack of money and the war against France made the work progress only slowly.
In 1674 the organ was only half finished. Finally the instrument was completed in 1678 by the Dordrecht organ builder Carl Jacobsz. Pellereyn. The front was crowned with the family coats of arms of the four church masters; in the middle the coat of arms of Holland and the text 'Vigilate Deo confidentes' (Be vigilant, trust in God). On the Positief the coat of arms of the city of Dordrecht was placed.
