The Château de Chenonceau (French: Château de Chenonceau) is located in the Loire Valley near the town of Chenonceaux in the French department of Indre-et-Loire, not far from Amboise and between Blois and Tours. The name of the castle is written without -x, in contrast to the name of the village Chenonceaux. It is one of the castles of the Loire.
It is one of the most special chateaux of the Loire Valley because it lies over the water of the river Cher and has attractive and well-kept gardens. The castle is privately owned and open all year round.
