Chestnut (Castanea) is a genus of deciduous trees that is not native to Belgium and the Netherlands. The leaves are pinnate and have a serrated edge.
The genus chestnut includes about nine species of chestnut trees, most of which reach a height of 30 to 40 metres.
The brown fruits grow in a prickly husk.
