For my work, I made a trip to Uganda. I had been to Uganda before but then had little contact with the local people. When this opportunity came up, I grabbed it with both hands. We visited a school here and asked the children to make a drawing. It was a competition in which we would choose the winner.
What I like about this picture, perhaps crazy to hear, is the blur. The very movement of submitting the drawings makes this photo far from boring and standard. Your gaze goes to the girl in the middle who is concentrating on making her drawing.
My photos are made 'in the moment'. One moment that may not come back due to a confluence of circumstances. There can (almost never) be a second same photo taken. I don't think too much, sometimes the photo is perfect at the press of a button. I also edit.. Read more…
