The common thread running through all my artistic work is the famous koan: "the clapping of one hand".
Finally, an indication that nothing is explainable and you can not understand anything, yet
Everything seems possible and yet nothing can be proved.
In terms of my painting, only the moment counts, the pleasure of painting. A dance with the colors, a destruction, a rebuilding. Finally a dialogue with the colors, the canvas and myself. Sometimes the pictures remain in the abstraction, or again by a trigger of a single color, a figurative composition develops.
That's how Cinque Terre came into being. a "snapshot" of a southern coastal landscape. Bright colors, blue, white, edges, corners, houses a pale beige. Noon light. Pictures emerge as if by themselves and yet not by themselves!
During my study period I worked mainly in stone, sometimes in wood. Figural and abstract. I learned to transfer graphic designs and sculptural models into large sculptures. A process of spatial prehension and its execution.
