One of the first shrubs to flower in spring is Ribes. Because of its early flowering, you are doing the first bees and bumblebees a big favour with these flowers. This is because they provide nectar for the first insects. And beyond that, they provide a cheerful image in the garden or in the street. And besides, they are beautiful little flowers, especially if you photograph them with the macro lens. Like this beautifully shaped flower of Ribes Sanguineum.
