A close up of the majestic Powerscourt waterfall . At 121 metres, the waterfall is the tallest in Ireland.
It is extraordinary to see the water making its way down between, over and around the rocks.
With great force and speed.
I chose to edit this photo in black and white because I wanted to focus on the power and speed of the water as it makes its way down.
By using a slower shutter speed, the water takes on a mysterious misty appearance.
The strength and fragility come together.
A sense of strong and soft.
When I look at this photo, despite seeing speed and strength, I feel calm. The photo helps remind me of my inner strength. With strength comes rest and relaxation. You can't always be on. I see that in this photo. No matter how busy it can be around you, a moment of just staying quietly in place gives strength.
Some everyday things can be awfully beautiful when you look at them differently.
