About the artwork
Clouds, light, sea water and fine sand. This photograph is dedicated to the calming ambience by the Mediterranean Sea and the subtle colours on the coast when the sky is cloudy. One of my favourite beaches in Calpe is Cantal Roig. It is a small sandy beach near the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park. This enchanting cove offers wonderful views towards the mountains by the sea, such as the Morro de Toix in Calpe and towards the Sierra Helada in Benidorm. The promontories rise majestically into the sea.
When walking along the coast and the sandy beaches in Calpe, I often enjoy the sound of the sea and views of the wide sea. I particularly like the feeling of the soft sand on the soles of my feet. I like to be inspired by the waves that are constantly emerging and moving towards the coast.
Rain clouds are approaching, causing the colours to lose some of their saturation. The last rays of the sun create a lighting atmosphere that is characterized by subtle grey tones. Sunlight reflects off the water surface and wet sand. As a result, the sea sparkles silver-grey. Against the light, rocks appear as dark silhouettes.
When I walk on the beach and let my gaze wander towards the wide sea, the feelings of freedom and serenity are omnipresent. This Mediterranean beach scene is destined to bring some of the magic of the Costa Blanca into your home.
