I love to make fun of reality, especially when it comes to the color palette that makes up humanity. I have never been able to understand why people judge each other by the color of their skin.
This work in a figurative and expressionist style painted in acrylic paint has as its subject brightly colored portraits. I deliberately studied the expressionist masters well and tried to depict the multiplicity of all sides of a face in a stylized way. I also tried to depict the tension between people, because no matter how you look at it, there is always some kind of tension present in a relation; this in the good and in the bad sense of the word.
