When I took this picture, I thought it must have failed. I had my settings set for a bird in full sun, until suddenly I saw this redwing landing right next to me in the shade. I quickly gave my shutter speed a whirl and started shooting, but this bird realised that all too quickly so it took off. I saw that I had shot at 1/125 sec, so I had an inkling that everything would be out of focus. Once home, when I looked at the photos on the laptop, I found that there was one sharp photo among them! I could keep looking at it. What a beautiful season autumn is! The photo was taken in the Broekpolder in Vlaardingen
