Epen (Limburg: Ieëpe) is one of the southernmost villages in the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem in the Dutch province of Limburg. The hamlets of Plaat, Terpoorten, Diependal, Terziet and Kuttingen lie just a little further south. Traditionally, the village belongs to the municipality of Wittem, which merged with Gulpen in 1999 to form the new municipality of Gulpen-Wittem.
Epen is a town in the South Limburg Hill Country, known for its many half-timbered houses. In and around Epen are about 480 homes with about 1,025 residents, of which over 710 live in the village itself.
