When I saw this image emerging in the corner of the meadow, I was reminded of the cows of Dutch masters like Paulus Potter and Albert Cuyp. (Not that I would dare compare myself to them, but still...) That late summer skimming light and the stillness. The straggler on the left taking all the time. And then also a sort of Dutch sky - all in all a very special atmosphere.
A well-known photographer once said to me, "To stand out as a photographer, you have to find your own niche." I never really managed to do that. I just want to take photos that make me happy. And that will hopefully make you happy too. Well, maybe.. Read more…
